Bonsoir peeps!
It’s May.
Russet tones are starting to appear in the Holden Manz Estate vineyards.
We’re having more and more rainy days.
The two rivers here on the farm (Franschhoek River and Stony Brook) are flowing again after a dry summer.
Migrating wild geese and ducks dot the sunset skies.
It’s time to prepare for overwintering in France.
As you know, my current position as nanny for a European family residing in Franschhoek requires me to accompany them to Europe for the Southern Hemisphere’s winter months. *Sigh* Woe on me.
I have just received our flight details and we’ll be leaving for Frankfurt on the 27th of May. After spending a few days taking care of business, we’ll be travelling South to visit family in the Baden-Wurttemberg ‘hood. Then it’s a road-trip through Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Monaco, travelling along the Med coast into France.
Final destination: Tourtour, le village dans ciel. The village in the sky.
This is where we’ll be based until end of August suffering away under the Provencal sun. I say again: tough times…
Life gets really boring during these three months. What I do to keep myself entertained is to make up a whole lot of stories about all my fake adventures during this imagined time in Provence.
(I only say that to make you all feel better about missing out on the fun, you know...)
If you would like to be kept informed, feel free to follow my blog here on google blogger.
Bonne nuit,
Lizette
